Linda McCants Arnold, 70 of Apalachicola and formerly of Tallahassee passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at her home. She is survived by her husband Harry K. Arnold.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, EST, Friday, February 28th at the First United Methodist Church in Apalachicola. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. Gifts in memory of Mrs. Arnold may be made to the charitable organization of your choice.

A native of, and longtime resident of Tallahassee, she had been a resident of St. George Island and Apalachicola for the past forty years.

She was a former Executive Assistant in the office of Governor Claude Kirk and was a former governmental consultant with the Beer Industry of Florida. After moving to Franklin County she became active in several business ventures; most recently "The Tin Shed" and was formerly very active in the St. George Island United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include two daughters, Patti Phillips of Roswell, GA and Jennifer Morgan of Apalachicola; two sons, Kent Arnold of Havana and Jon Barwick of Port St. Joe; and five grandchildren, Meagan Morgan of Tallahassee, Kameron Barwick of Port St. Joe, Dylan Arnold of Havana, and Kyle and Lauren Phillips, both of Roswell.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willie Joe McCants and Elizabeth Nelle Scott McCants; a brother Bill McCants; and two sisters, Sally Robinson and Charlotte Jett.
